Dear Giuliana-san…
Thank you very much for accepting me in your Afternoon Tea Lesson on August 28. I couldn’t help getting absorbed in it.
While I was in the kitchen with you, I felt so happy because I happened to see the recommendation of this lesson on the “JAL GUIDE” I got in flight and this lesson was still available.
Taking this lesson was the HIGHLIGHT in my six day stay in London.
I got interested in not only how to make shortbreads, scones and sandwiches buy also your explanations about afternoon tea, high tea and cream tea in clear and easy English even knowing how the kitchen is like in London was so interesting to me.
One of the most impressive talks is that I should feel much more confident when I prepare and enjoy afternoon tea in my own way to make my guests feel comfortable.
In addition, I will never forget your wonderful entertainment to give us a good surprise and your perfect but time-consuming preparation.
Thank you very much again, Giuliana-san.
I hope I will participate other cookery and bakery lessons in the future.
Please take good care of yourself especially your wrist and please say “Thanks!” to the lady who helped us.
Your sincerely,
Tomoko H

Hello Giuliana

It was very lovely than I’ve imagined today.

Thank you very much…
I am looking forward to seeing you on 15 Nov.

Dear Giuliana-san,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I am very happy to read it because it is from just like my close friend.
To tell the truth, I didn’t expect I could receive your reply as you are a so famous and hard worker!
Please don’t laugh at me!
Your cooking lesson is still going on in my daily life even in Japan.
Everytime I remember my trip to London, every scene I saw and shared with other participants and some words I heard and used in your class occur to me even now as your afternoon tea lesson was so wonderful and unforgettable.
Maybe the thyme you picked and gave us in the garden after the class worked well!
Thank you very much again, Giuliana-sensei.
I hope I will take your cooking lessons in the future.

Dear Giuliana,
Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon tea we’ve had at your place!
The tea, sandwiches, cakes, and the scones were all delicious!
What’s more, the atmosphere including interior and music was really heart warming.
Thanks to you we’ve had a “feel-at-home” time in UK!
I am enjoying your book, and it lets me recall my happy times in London .
Essays are also very interesting.
George Orwell is someone I have always been keen to know from my university days.
And his essays on tea were convincing that it seems to reflect his way of living and thinking.
“All animals are equal…..but some animals not.” This is not fair at all.
Your lessons on afternoon tea have revealed that we are all equal in having enjoyable time with a cup of tea.
Now, we are all back in Japan , and everything is going on as usual.
But our memories in UK , especially the lovely time we had with you, will never fade away.
Thank you many many times again!!
Wishing you all the best,
Makiko N

Dear Giuliana,
My wife and I fully appreciate you for your hospitality at the afternoon tea lesson last week.
I read your book especially chapters about history of tea and afternoon tea in England. That was very interesting partly because the Victorian era is overlapped with the Meiji era in Japanese history when Japan dramatically changed from the old system to modern and civilized society. In that period, England and Japan had a tight connection, and that might be a source that we Japanese love English culture including afternoon tea.
Another interesting thing for me is, shared communality between English afternoon tea and Japanese tea. Japanese tea seems more formal and restricted by rules at a glance, however, the spirituality of hospitality is very similar with English afternoon tea. As I love Japanese tea, I was very glad that you have interest to it which appeared in your book.
As I said, I came to London and will stay by the next year. This is my sabbatical leave. The reason why I came here is just I love England. I am fully enjoying my stay, and your lesson is an important part of that.
I hope that many Japanese people will attend your lesson and experience one of beautiful pearls of English culture.
Again thank you so much.
Best regards,
Hideki

Dear Giuliana,
Just to drop a few lines to express how I appreciate your lessons!!
Being one of your most conscientious pupils (well, that is how I regard myself!) I love trying out new recipes whenever I come home from your classes.
The latest hit was chocolate roulade- it really went down well with my friends!
Keep up the good work- you have truly inspired us in the art of traditional British home cooking and afternoon tea.
Hello Giuliana,
It was really fun and good experience to learn afternoon tea recipe in a relaxed atmosphere.
Not only “how to make” but also I learned a lot of new ideas-such as moist papertowels, magic-words, and handy-tools.
Doggy bag was a big surprise for my daughters. They liked all the treats and we are going to try all the recipe to have a afternoon tea party.
Best regards,
Dear Giuliana
How are you? I am kumiko taught by you in February.
Do you remember me?
I thank for a pleasant lesson.
By the way.
My shop was interviewed for a magazine.
It is a special feature of “a trip and a cake” this time.
May I introduce your classroom?
The company publishes a magazine in a foothold in Nagoya.
I want to introduce “RITZ TORTE of Giuliana” which had you teach me.
I want to have your permission.
Coverage is May 18.
An answer is necessary by then.
Thanking you in advance.
My English is insufficient and is disappointed.
Did you have you understand it?
Best wishes,
Kumiko Sugimoto
Dear Giuliana
I found your website to-day and loved reading all about your afternon tea classes. Most of all I enjoyed reading all the happy testimonials. In addition to passing on all the customs of afternoon tea in England and how to prepare a traditional tea, your classes obviously are very happy occasions and have given a lot of pleasure to so many people. It is lovely that they treasure the time spent with you in your lovely home – a highlight of their visit to England. All re-remembered each time they make their own afternoon teas for their friends in Japan.
Congratulations
Maria Taylor, Lincolnshire.
Dear Ms. Giuliana,
Hello!
I am Joeng, Dragon from Korea at your cooking class last month.
It was very pleasure to have your class and I will never forget it in my life for all about the class you tought me.
I am on a business trip with my husband from the next day of arrival in Korea and have no chance to make some cook.
I am going to invite my friends with English food including the afternoon tea time and also with your lovely voice music!
You know?
When I arrived at my home, my husband and I listened to your music by the cd you gave me a present which I asked you.
We enjoyed it all very much.
Thank you very much for everything!
I hope to see you again in the future.
Best Regards,
Jeong
